Kele - Everything You Wanted

The song Everything You Wanted is performed by solo artist Kele Okereke. He is fairly new artist as he left his band Bloc Party in order to start a solo career for himself. Kele features in the video throughout and this is most likely so that he can make a new image for himself.
The video starts off quite slowly with Kele walking in quite odd way, this lets us know that he may be troubled in some way, this is further shown in his body language, he has his head down alot of the time looking depressed. The video speeds up when the chorus comes in to inject more even more emotion, Kele body language changes slightly too. He begins singing louder and looking up more rather than down. Kele is wearing a stained yellow shirt and a red baseball cap, the red baseball cap is most likely being worn so that he can get his new image across to his fans, the yellow stained shirt tells us that he may not care what people think of him but is most likely to show how he is emotionally unstable therefore hasn't put much thought into his appearance. Kele has no microphone and their are no instruments or other band members performing alongside him which suggests the idea of the video is to keep full focus on Kele emotions than of anything else.

Almost every single shot used in this video is either a medium close up or extreme close up of Kele, this helps us feel and take in the emotions he is going through, this also helps us to notice that he is crying towards the end. A few long shots are used but only briefly to show his body movement rather than his expression.

The editing has been done so that during the chorus lots of quick shots make the mood more intense, this makes Kele seem as though he is not in control of his emotions, and so that in the verse's and at the end there is less intensity, making Kele seem more stable and in control of his emotions.
